Ice Cream, Unicorns, and Mailmans....God's Grace during Stress

Hi, Page Turner here! It has been 21 days since my last blog entry; that's three weeks to the day. Oops! Well, I'm writing now, so who cares? :) Here's the scoop: it's really late, (I've got to get up early) so I need to wrap it up. But tomorrow's blog post is going to include ice cream, calendars, a unicorn, a mailman, and poetry. Stay tuned....   The Lord is good. I am so stressed about school right now, and I'm not dealing with it very well. He's still in control, though. Even when I'm about to climb up the walls like Peanut, my cat, after a laser pointer, He's still there and He's my Father. He's working everything for good, and He's always with me. I just have a hard time remembering that. But Jesus won't ever leave me and pursues me everyday.  Speaking of remembering, tomorrow's blog post includes an elephant! (I'm just not sure how....)    Anyway, I've got to go!

His Good Dog, Monday

Hey, Page Turner here. Today's will be a small post, but I've been thinking about Rilla of Ingleside, the 8th book of L.M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables series. Jem is Anne's son and he loves dogs. One of my favorite parts in the book is a small paragraph devoted to Jem's dog, Monday, who waits for his master at the train station during the four long, hard years of war. I've got a dog of my own, and if you've ever had a dog most are loyal, loving, whole-hearted devoted creatures. I think it's really cool how God created animals that can be pets and love us. A dog's impressive capacity for love is just a teeny-tiny little smorsel of God's amazing love for us--partly because a dog isn't ANYWHERE near as incredible, and big, and amazing, and holy as God is--and they also don't know all of our our secrets and thoughts. But no matter how many times you yell at them for jumping on the couch, or give them that bath they just hate, dogs lic

Skywalker

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away Ruled an evil regime And standing forlorn, and bent on one knee Was a boy on dark Tattoine The sky was faded blue, the homes and dwellings widespread He stood looking out at the two setting suns With a tilt of his shaggy blonde head A droid by his side, his boots on the ground His thoughts, scattered and far Should he go--should he stay? These thoughts still remained As his heart roamed through the stars

Flamingos!

Flamingos! Hey, Page Turner here again. So when I logged into my computer, I have a screensaver that changes each day. Today's was a beautiful picture of flamingos. Their tall, twig-slender legs, beautiful soft pink feathers, and elegantly curved neck was clearly visible in the shallow water. I think that God designed flamingos in such an amazing way! They are absolutely beautiful creatures, like a sunset with wings! Also, these exotic birds have amazing adaptions. Did you know that their long, long slender legs have really rough skin on them? They stand in salty water that would burn a human's skin clean off almost instantly, but they are unaffected because of their protection. Also, like penguins, both the parents help care for their egg, which they lay on a mound of mud in the middle of a lake. Also like penguins, they feed their young regurgitated meals. They are fast runners, slow fliers, and great runners. I think that God's amazing design is evident in these beautif

Singing Stars

Hey, Page Turner here! I think science is so cool. There is so much to learn about creation. Did you know that blue whales way up to 100 tons? Or that stars 'sing' like whales? And that certain cave fish have adapted to be blind and colorless, because they don't need sight or camoflauge? From the Great Barrier Reef, to the swirling supernovas, we can see how the earth praises Jesus. God is so amazing and His creation brings glory to Him. I am so astounded that He is so creative and that the entire universe is crying out in praise to Him--and yet He made a way for us to have a personal relationship where we cry out, "Abba, Father!" God is so amazing!   I'll be back later with either a book review or video. See you later!                                                                                    ---page turner

Science!

Hey, Page Turner here. Here's my new category: Science! I think God is so amazing and His creativity and awesome power can be seen throughout creation. From the beauty of the singing of the humpback whales, to the power of an exploding volcano, to the soft falling of a long rain shower, we can see His design and praise and glorify Him. So excited! Hope to see you soon!                                                                                         ---page turner

Blogging Again...

See Details Below  Hey, I'm back! Page Turner here. It's been a while since I've been on my blog, but I'm excited to be back! I hope you've all had a good summer. Mine's been busy, but great, although my blog has taken a backseat...for the past few months. I always thought a blog was about being cool and enjoyable and getting a lot of people to read it,  but now I realize that writing is a gift that God's given me. When I enjoy it, I bring praise to Him and glorify Him. Writing on my blog, rejoicing in His love and being excited about the the happiness I get from the gift He's given me...glorifying my Savior...that's a great reason for writing a blog! God is amazing! Anyway, it's good to be back. Here's some updates... I love writing book reviews and movie reviews, so I'm going to be reviewing Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales , Descendants 2, and AstroBoy , and for books, Rilla of Ingleside and Uncle Tom's Cab
