Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! Hi, I'm Paige Turner, and I'm back for the Christmas season. I'm looking forward to writing more on my blog and also celebrating one of my favorite times of the year! Christmas can be an exciting, cozy, comforting time, but it can also be filled with stress, doubt, and sadness as we think of those we miss. Wherever you are this Christmas season, I pray that you'll find peace in our Savior--something that we all need to be reminded of, including me. :) Christmas can also be an exciting time, full of joy--even during stress and sadness, a deeper kind of joy--about Jesus, our Healer and King.I'm looking forward to celebrating love, family (while eating some delicious food), but most importantly, Jesus, Immanuel, which means, "God with us." Merry Christmas!

Hi, Page Turner again! In case you were wondering, I had a blast on Valentine's Day and I'm now back for a brand-new movie review! Today, I was able to watch the Good Dinosaur and was left with feelings of Jurassic proportions...   The Good Dinosaur starts out with incredible CGI landscapes inspired by the Wyoming mountains, as a green dinosaur couple looks over their three eggs that are starting to hatch, in a moment akin to the very beginning of Finding Nemo. Each of the eggs hatch out three young dinosaurs, but Arlo is the very smallest of his family. The Invention of Hugo Cabret

Hi, Page Turner here! I'm back for--guess what!--another book review. That's right, folks. Book reviews are now officially part of the blog and will be labeled under movie reviews. What's this one on? Just one of the greatest graphic novels of all time. Okay, so when I said 'graphic novel' I guess I should be more specific. According to the dictionary a graphic novel is "a novel in a comic strip format." This book combines pages with words with pages covered in beautiful drawings that tell a story almost as clearly as the aforesaid written pages do. If you haven't guessed it all ready, this is the story of "The Invention of Hugo Cabret." If this doesn't sound like your kind of book, does mystery, danger, an orphan kid living in a clock tower, an old man with a secret, the history and magic of movies, or a secret hidden in a metal automaton strike your fancy? Marvel Movies Review

Alrighty, a movie review! It's been a while, but I love doing these...      Okay, so I've recently watched the Avengers, Avengers 2, Winter Soldier, and Iron Man. (Do you see a pattern?) Here's the rundown: Avengers is really good. It's got violence, and some language, but a lot of funny dialogue, heroic deeds, and suspense, plus a good ol' superhero/modern-end-of-world feel to it. Thor's brother, Loki, teams up with an alien-robot race to take over the world, so S.H.I.E.L.D. must contact Iron Man, Black Widow, Captain America, The Hulk, Thor, and eventually Hawk Eye to save the day. The problem? They don't get along well. In fact, mayhem and dissension could appropriately describe this band of strange heroes with tons of emotional baggage. The team must learn to work together, or the world will suffer the consequences. Avengers 2 is once again riddled with violence and some language, but again has the same redeeming qualities. Hydra springs up once more...
